Laser Hair Reduction with the Revlite Laser System. Laser Hair removal is one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the country. The ability to provide effective laser hair removal for all skin types can provide a competitive advantage to practices of any size and scope. Physicians who offer laser hair removal often welcome new patients from referrals. In fact, laser hair removal is often a patient’s first experience with an aesthetic medical laser. Successful treatment usually motivates patients to explore other laser-based treatments, generating organic growth for the practice.]
Laser Hair Reduction - Revlite Laser Hair Reduction
I was sceptical that a 1064 q-swithced laser could effectively remove unwanted hair so I gave a few patients free treatments to see how well it worked. I was a little surprised how fast and virtually painless the laser treatments were for my patients. I was even more surprised how effective it was. This is a great laser for dark skin types who want a painless laser hair reduction experience. I feel the other lasers I have for hair removal are more effective but I have many patients who prefer the Revlite laser over the other two laser hair removal systems I use. Because I feel the other two systems get better permanent results I use the terms laser hair reduction or laser waxing when I do Revlite laser treatments on hair. The advantage of Revlite laser hair redduction over traditional hair waxing is that the laser is much less painful, faster and more effective at removing hair. The results also last longer than traditional hair waxing.
The RevLite™ laser, introduced in 2007, builds on the heritage of success and innovation f the Medlite, featuring PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse™ (PTP) – a unique dispersion of energy that produces very narrow pulse widths with up to 60 percent more power, even over larger spot sizes.
ReVlite Laser Hair Removal Technology
RevLite™ lasers offer the 1064 nm wavelength which is effective for laser hair removal, penetrating deeply enough to damage the hair bulb with very little risk of hyper- or hypo-pigmentation, or other side effects common with the use of other lasers on dark skin. The RevLite™ laser has a significantly reduced risk of skin blisters or burns because the hair removal action is PhotoAcoustic rather than photothermal; peak energy is dispersed though the epidermis faster than the normal relaxation time of healthy tissue, and avoids transmitting heat to the skin’s surface. The energy is delivered so forcefully and evenly, it vibrates and shatters the hair shaft, with minimal discomfort to the patient. Because there is minimal heat delivery to the skin’s surface, there is no need for costly and cumbersome cooling devices. Physicians report that the RevLite™ laser is particularly effective on dark vellus hair and paradoxical hypertrichosis.
